Bringing Back Local Healthcare To Laporte Medical Center

The Commissioners have been working with Rural Health Corporation (RHC) to bring health care back to the Sullivan County Medical Center in Laporte. RHC’s board has approved expanding to the Sullivan County Medical Center and their next phase is to get approval from the federal government to receive the status of Federally Qualified Health Clinic. Federally Qualified Health Center is community-based health care providers that receive funds from the HRSA Health Center Program to provide primary care services in underserved areas. They must meet a stringent set of requirements, including providing care on a sliding fee scale based on ability to pay and operating under a governing board that includes patients from the local area.

To learn more about Rural Health you can visit their website https://www.rhcnepa.com/ . They are also encouraging patients to reach out to them in the interim for their health care needs. We are all working to bring them into the center as quickly as possible. They have a location in Noxen, 2888 SR 29s Monroe Township Pa 18636; 570-704-4234.
