No, It is strongly advised that you leave your mobile phone in your vehicle prior to entering the courthouse. Court staff are not responsible for the loss, theft, or damage of personal belongings brought into the facility.

To submit your excuse request please redirect to eForms and either fill out the on site form or download the PDF and email jury@sullivancountypa.gov. Please note that mail submissions are accepted however is less preferred due to mail transfer times. For assistance you may call (570) 946 - 8747 leave a message and someone will return your call. Please note verbal requests will not be honored.

If you are unable to attend jury service on your scheduled date, you may be eligible for a deferral. Deferral requests must be submitted to the Office of the Jury Coordinator no later than seven (7) business days prior to the scheduled service date. Requests may be made via mail, email, or eForm page.
This process is in compliance with provisions allowing individuals to be excused from jury service due to undue hardship or extreme inconvenience, as determined by the court.

If you believe you are incapable of rendering efficient jury service due to a mental or physical infirmity, you may be eligible for a deferment or excusal from jury service. All medical related excuses require a doctors note.

Individuals aged 18 to 74 are generally expected to fulfill service obligations. Those aged 75 and older may request to be excused from service.

Only current residents of Sullivan County can serve on a Jury, If you no longer resides within the county please contact the Jury Coordinator Office with proof of new residency.

If you have been selected for jury duty in Pennsylvania, your eligibility may be determined using information from several state databases. These include but are not limited to records from the Department of Human Services, the Department of Transportation, and voter registration databases.

Jurors are expected to dress in a manner that reflects the significance of their civic duty. Attire deemed inappropriate includes, but is not limited to: blue jeans, tank tops, shorts, sweat suits, beach footwear, revealing garments, or clothing displaying offensive language or imagery. Please be advised that individuals who arrive in unsuitable attire may be dismissed and required to return on the next scheduled court day dressed appropriately.
