Excusal/ Deferral Form
To request an excusal or deferral from jury duty, you may either complete the designated online form available through the court’s website or fill out the downloadable PDF version and submit it via mail or email. If preferred, you may also email a written explanation detailing the reason for your request. Please note that verbal requests will not be accepted under any circumstances.
Please Note:
Medical excusal requests must be accompanied by a signed statement or note from a licensed physician.
If you have relocated outside the county, you must provide documentation verifying your new address.
Deferral requests will only be considered if the court determines that the reason constitutes a genuine undue hardship or extreme inconvenience. Typically work excuses are not valid reasons for deferral.
If a deferral is granted, you will be expected to serve during the next scheduled trial term.
All deferral requests must be submitted no later than seven (7) days prior to your scheduled service date.
